The Leeds School of Arts scholarships will be awarded on the basis of exceptional academic performance and design experience, evidenced through an interview and design portfolio.

Northern Film School

Funding Available - 10 x 50% scholarships

The awards are available for full-time taught Master’s courses and will be applied as fee waivers towards the cost of tuition fees.

• 4 scholarships available for MA Documentary Filmmaking.

• 2 scholarships available for MA Screenwriting: Feature Film and Continuing Series.

• 2 scholarships available for MSc Creative Technology.

• 2 scholarships available for MA Cinematography.

Subject-specific criteria:

Have achieved at least a UK first-class or upper second (or overseas equivalent) undergraduate award from a related course.

Art & Design

Funding Available - 10 x 50% scholarships

The awards are available for full-time taught Master’s courses and will be applied as fee waivers towards the cost of tuition fees.

• 4 scholarships available for MA Graphic Design.

• 2 scholarships available for MA 3D Design.

• 2 scholarships available for MA Fine Art.

• 2 scholarships available for MA Fashion.

Subject-specific criteria:

Have achieved at least a UK first-class or upper second (or overseas equivalent) undergraduate award from a related course. 

Dance and Choreographic Practice

Funding Available - 2 x 50% scholarships

Subject-specific criteria:

You must have achieved a UK first-class or upper second (or overseas equivalent) undergraduate award from a dance or performance related subject.

Music, Sound and Performing Arts

Funding Available - 4 x 50% scholarships

Subject-specific criteria:

You must have achieved a UK first-class or upper second (or overseas equivalent) undergraduate award from a course pertaining to the performing arts, which includes but is not limited to, Acting, Dance, Music Performance, or Creative Technology. 

4 scholarships are available for successful applicants to a postgraduate course in one of these subject areas: Music and Sound or Performing Arts.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Leeds School of Art scholarships you must:

• Be assessed as having an ‘Overseas or EU’ residency status

• Be assessed to pay the overseas fee

• Be studying the relevant course full time

• Be actively enrolled on an eligible course

• Be a self-funded student, who is paying the full course fee for that year (those students who have their tuition fees paid by a third-party sponsor, employer or government agency will not be eligible)

• Studying that level of the course for the first time (i.e. not repeating any level during that year)

In addition, you must meet the course-specific criteria as outlined above.
