Overview

Richmond University is a unique London-based university offering a traditional American Liberal Arts education. Having recently celebrated its 40th anniversary, it is the only university in the UK to offer dually accredited degrees (UK & US), providing worldwide recognition to its graduates. 1,800 students from nearly 100 countries are currently enrolled.

Richmond University offers its students a small class experience, with the average size being no more than 20 students. Dedicated to employability, Richmond offers personal development seminars, access to work experience, volunteering, international internships and a guaranteed semester abroad.

Services for International Students

Richmond’s Department of Student Affairs look after the health and wellbeing of all international students outside of the classroom. They offer pastoral care and counselling, housing advice, visa support, financial guidance, a careers service, clubs and societies and extra-curricular trips.

During the first week, Student Affairs helps guide students on the essential practicalities of living on campus and in the UK. This includes helping students register with a doctor, opening a bank account, giving educational seminars and organizing social events.

Accommodation

Students residing at the Richmond Hill Campus may choose from a variety of room types, from traditional US-style shared rooms, to single occupancy rooms. Student accommodation is located in the impressive main building and also in the surrounding buildings on the Richmond Hill campus.

Students residing at the Kensington Campus are housed in four residences which are within walking distance from the main campus buildings. Atlantic house, which also houses the library, IT Labs and dining hall, is the central residential hall in Kensington.

Location

The University has two campuses located in two of London's most sought-after boroughs. Foundation, first and second year students are based at the Richmond Campus. Richmond is an area which for hundreds of years has been a favourite retreat of Royalty, the rich and the famous, and is located only 20 minutes tube ride from the city.

Third year, fourth year and postgraduate students are based at the Kensington campus, located right in the heart of central London. The campus is close to the capital’s wealth of cultural and leisure facilities, historic sites and the financial district.

I believe my success is due to the great support provided by SI-UK. I was advised the right IELTS courses to attend and they also helped with my visa application. I really want to share with you my positive experience and I would definitely recommend SI-UK to my friends.
